The Department of Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt was one of the first independent departments of anesthesiology in the United States. In keeping with our tradition of leadership in the specialty, our vision is to prepare physicians and scientists to be leaders in clinical care, educational innovation, and intellectual inquiry related to perioperative disease management.
