Vanderbilt Anesthesiololgy

Dr. Stewart Perlman travelled to Israel recently and was involved exploring the possibilities of a collaboration and/or interchange between our department and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. Dr. Perlman spent time meeting with Dr. Charles Weissman, Director of the Department of Anesthesiology there, as well as meeting with many of his faculty.

Dr. Perlman conducted interviews with faculty heads with special interests in cardiothoracic anesthesiology, neuroanesthesiology, critical care medicine, obstetrics, and perioperative informatics. Dr. Higgins, Dr. Weissman, and Dr. Perlman are working on possible interchanges to include faculty, residents, and medical students. They are exploring ways for our anesthesiologists to explore and learn in Israel, as well as the faculty and residents of Hadassah-Hebrew University coming here to learn about our subspecialties of ambulatory anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, neuroanesthesiology, and critical care medicine.
